Maharashtra Teachers Eligibility Test (Maha TET)
The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) had successfully conducted the Maharashtra Teachers Eligibility Test (Maha TET). The Maha TET exam is a state-level eligibility test conducted for aspirants who wish to join a teaching career in Maharashtra State. Maha TET is designed to check the knowledge and teaching skills of prospective teachers. The Maha TET Exam is paper-based OMR conducted in both languages English, Hindi and Marathi. Maha TET is divided into two papers:
- Maha TET Paper 1: For those who wish to teach classes 1 to 5.
- Maha TET Paper 2: For those who wish to teach classes 6 to 8.
Maha TET Certificate is valid for Lifetime. Moreover, Maha TET certificate is mandatory for teaching jobs in Government and aided schools. Previously, the Maha TET certificate was valid for 7 years. However, in 2020, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) extended the validity of all State TET and CTET certificates to a lifetime.
Maha TET Exam Pattern
The Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test Pattern is divided into two parts Paper 1 and Paper 2
- Paper I: For those who want to teach classes I to V (Primary Stage)
- Paper II: For those who want to teach classes VI to VIII (Upper Primary Stage)
The mode of Maha TET is Offline (pen and paper based) with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four options each. The Total Number of Questions are 150 in each paper and 150 marks for each paper. The is 1 mark for each correct answer and No negative marking for incorrect answers.
