WB SET is short form of West Bengal State Eligibility Test (MP SET). The West Bengal State Eligibility Test (WB SET) is a state-level eligibility examination conducted by the West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC). Overall, the WB SET is to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions as Assistant Professor in Universities and College across the West Bengal state.

- Paper I: (General Aptitude, Teaching and Research Aptitude) Paper – 1 consist of 50 objective type questions, each carrying 2 marks. Paper – 1 was primarily designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
- Paper II: (Subject-specific paper based on the candidate’s chosen specialization) Paper – II consist of 100 objective type, each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate.

WB SET 2024: Qualifying Marks:
Meanwhile, in order to be considered for ‘Eligibility for Assistant Professor’, the candidate must have appeared in both the papers and secured at least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for General (Unreserved) category/EWS candidates and at least 35% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for all candidates belonging to the reserved categories [viz., SC, ST, OBC (belonging to Non-Creamy Layer)/PWD] and Transgender.
