NEET UG 2025 Updates (25th January 2025): The National Testing Agency (NTA) released a public notice today on January 25, 2025 regarding the change in Exam Pattern and Time duration.
NEET UG 2025 Latest News: Change in Exam Pattern is 180 Compulsory Questions:
The question paper will consist of a total of 180 compulsory questions, and will be distributed as follows:
- Physics: 45 questions
- Chemistry: 45 questions
- Biology (Botany and Zoology): 90 questions
NEET UG 2025 Latest News: Change in Time Duration is 180-Minute:
The NEET UG 2025 total duration of the examination will be 180 minutes (3 hours). This means students will have an average of one minute per question.

NEET UG 2025 Latest Updates: The Mode of Exam will be Offline Paper Based OMR MCQ. As decided by National Medical Commission (NMC), it is informed that the NEET (UG)-2025 shall be conducted in Pen and Paper mode (OMR based) in Single day and Single Shift.

About NEET UG:
NEET UG is a National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate). NEET is a nationwide entrance examination for admission to after 12th Class or Undergraduate medical courses. The NEET UG is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) across India.
The NEET result or merit provides admission for MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) courses. NEET UG is only entrance exam for admission to medical colleges across India for both government and private medical colleges. The Union Education Minister has indicated that NEET-UG2025 may soon shift to computer-based testing (CBT) mode. The Radhakrishnan Committee, a special committee has recommended several major changes in the NEET 2025 exam. Meanwhile, to conduct the NEET UG exam in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode is the main agenda of the special committee. Overall, this step will not only increase the transparency of the exam but will also improve data security.

The NEET 2024 exam was conducted in pen-and-paper mode. As per the source a special committee has recommended several major changes in the NEET 2025 exam. Meanwhile, to conduct the NEET UG exam in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode is the main agenda of the special committee. Overall, the current format is pen-and-paper, and finally the NTA will continue pen-and-paper mode for NEET UG 2025.

NEET UG Exam Date: As of now, there have been no official announcements y NTA regarding date of the NEET 2025 exam. However, NEET was always conducted on first Sunday of May month. Assuming that expected date of NEET UG is 4th May’ 2025 (Sunday).
NEET UG Attempts:
As per the official announcement, as of now there is no limit on the number of attempts for the NEET UG exam. Aspirant can attempt the exam as many times as he/she wish until you secure a seat in desired medical college.
However, earlier there were restrictions over the NTA NEET UG maximum number of attempts. But in year 2018 the authorities removed the restrictions.
